A touch of warmer weather, the lengthening days, and an interesting sky presented a combination too good to resist. A short ride over to Sea Cliff, overlooking Hempstead Harbor resulted in these images.
With a little luck, we've seen the worst of the winter!
John has spent a lifetime around airplanes and cameras. The son of a TWA mechanic, he grew up around airplanes, and got his first camera at age 9.
A degree in Aerospace Engineering was followed by a stint in the US Air Force, where he flew KC-135 aerial refueling tankers.
After leaving the Air Force, John joined Newsday, the major daily newspaper on Long Island. He spent 18 years at the newspaper, as a business analyst, project manager and sales support/training manager.
Through it all, photography was there for enjoyment, relaxation, to share time with friends, and a way to capture the special moments along the way.
